Knit an easy cowl or scarf in popular autumn colors 2019
Do you want to knit a cowl or a scarf in autumn colors that even a beginner can knit? Welcome to our free KAL!
The autumn is here with its’ fantastic colors. It is so relaxing to sit under a blanket, take a cup of warm tea or chocolate and enjoy knitting.

Even two skeins can do the trick.

To be in our KAL you need to prepare 2-4 balls of brown and yellow yarn, round needles 3.5 mm 40 cm.

You can either opt for knitting a cowl or a scarf (one-sided).
Yarn: Lang Yarns Fantomas, 2 balls (4 for a longer scarf) (146 m)
Needles: 3,5 circular , 40cm length.
Gauge: 27 sts & 30 rows = 10cmx10cm

Grace of the Jungle
You will need:
Lang Yarns Fantomas
2-4 balls in the desired color (we use colors 157 and 196).
Circular needles,
40 cm, 3.5 mm
Gauge:
27s x 30r = 10×10 cm
Grace of the Jungle, pt1
Cast on 63 stitches. This pattern is stitched in stockinette stitching.
Selvage stitches are knitted with the brown color, and the rows are knitted as follows:
The first row on the right side:
Slip stitch, knit according to the chart till you have 2 stitches left. Knit 1, yarn over, knit 1.
Wrong Side:
Slip stitch, purl 2 stitches, pass the slip stitch over the two purl stitches. Purl until you have 2 stitches left. Purl 1 stitch, yarn over, Purl 1 stitch.
All other right sides:
(all rows except the first right side row) slip stitch, Knit 2 stitches, pass the slip stitch over the two knit stitches. Knit until you have 2 stitches left. Knit 1, yarn over, knit 1.
Pattern:
Knit 4 rows in the brown color (knit on the right side and purl on the wrong side).
Continue knitting according to the chart, where the brown squares are the brown color Lang Yarns Fantomas and the white squares are the yellow color.
Trap floats by weaving every 3 stitches to skip long hanging yarn threads on the wrong side of the scarf/cowl.
You use circular needles to knit, that means that you knit the first row on the right side, turn the scarf, purl the second rown on the wrong side, turn the work again and knit the third row on the right side, etc.
